We are pleased to welcome you to the Glenice & John Gallagher Foundation funding application portal. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with our community funding rounds and eligibility criteria.

Community Funding Rounds Dates

  • Round 1: Opens 1 December – Closes 28 February
  • Round 2: Opens 20 March – Closes 31 May
  • Round 3: Opens 1 July – Closes 30 September

The Glenice & John Gallagher Foundation is dedicated to supporting community projects throughout New Zealand, with a focus on the Waikato region, by supporting initiatives and activities that empower communities to grow stronger and become more self-reliant.

Most grants range from $100 - $15,000, however greater amounts will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

Before you complete your application, please ensure your organisation meets the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Your organisation is a charity or not-for-profit entity?
    (Includes community groups, clubs, educational institutions, schools, and pre-schools.)
  2. Your organisation is New Zealand-based, with funds being used in New Zealand?
  3. You can provide a New Zealand bank account in the name of your organisation?
  4. Your organisation can demonstrate stable financial viability?
  5. You have provided receipts and accountability reports for any previous funding received from us?

 What We Do Not Fund

Please note that the following are not eligible for funding:

  • Individuals
  • Professional/elite sportspeople or teams
  • Retrospective applications
  • Overseas travel and accommodation
  • Political purposes
